Tell me how often you think of me.  And if you can’t I won’t be upset, I’ll just assume one of two extremes.  Either that it is never or that it is always.  Both just break my heart.  Just as not knowing breaks my heart.  Don’t tell me your secrets.  I can guess what you’re hiding and when you tell me things I don’t want to you feel like you’re confessing.  When you tell me things they will no longer be secrets.  I’d rather hear all the questions no one has been able to answer for you.  I’d rather know what we’re going to try to answer together.  How would you feel about wrapping your arms around me while I tell you what I’m terrified of?  I don’t mind if you interrupt to explain why I shouldn’t be scared.  How would you feel about tears silently streaming down my face as I tell you how little faith I’ve been clinging to for so long?  Would you feel comfortable with my legs over yours, just holding hands taking the time to know each other without words?

Can you tell me how often your heart re-breaks when I say the wrong thing, or I say the right thing, or I say the right thing that reminds you of the wrong person?
